  • Coastline Housing

Coastline Housing is one of the South West’s leading Housing Associations with almost 4,000 properties providing housing services throughout Cornwall. We originally assisted Coastline with the development of a strategy for the control of water hygiene and safety to include compliance with ACOP L8 and have since embarked on a 5 year programme of risk assessments, monitoring and minor plumbing improvement works. We also received recognition from the HSE for our strategy which meets the legal requirements without excessive cost to Coastline or interruption to their tenants. Staff at all levels in the coastline organisation have received training appropiate to the level of responsibility.

  • Cornwall College

Cornwall College consists of 7 campuses spread across various locations in Cornwall. QES have helped Cornwall College establish and maintain compliance with the HSE’s ACOP L8 for legionella control by undertaking legionella risk assessments, staff training, cleaning and disinfections, and implementing and managing an ongoing scheme for compliance and risk management.

  • Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Community Estates

The Community Estate portfolio, including proprties operated by Devon’s NHS Primary Care Trust, Partnership Trust and South Devon Healthcare Trust consists of over 130 hospitals, healthcare centres, day clinics and ambulance stations. QES assists with meeting and maintain ongoing compliance with the strict water hygiene standards of ACOP L8 and HTM-04 by undertaking legionella risk assessments, water system monitoring, water quality sampling, thermostatic mixing valve servicing, shower head cleaning, water tank disinfecting and plumbing improvements. We have also improved the standard of water quality at one of South Devon’s Mental Health hospitals by improving the treatment of the hospital’s own private borehole supply, and are currently installing a state of the aret silver-copper ionisation water treatment system at a Community Hospital site in West Devon.

  • Cornwall Healthcare Estates & Support Services

Working on behalf of Dean & Dyball Rail (now Birse Rail), QES has carried out legionella risk assessments, water quality sampling and plumbing improvements for over 150 network rail sites on the South West and Wales railway networks, including station buildings, signal boxes and maintenance depots. All staff involved underwent medical examination, drugs and alcohol testing and specialist safety training in order to hold Personal Track Safety (PTS) cards for working on or near a railway line.

  • Tregenna Castle

Tregenna Castle is one of Cornwall’s gems – an 81 bedroom hotel with 70 self catering lodges on a 72 acre estate with a golf course and leisure centre, all overlooking St Ives Bay. QES have provided Tregenna Castle with a legionella risk assessment and has implemented an annual water hygiene management programme to meet the requirements of the HSE’s ACOP L8, including microbiological sampling from their spa and swimming pools.
