Gas Safety Certificates
The Health and Safety at Work Act and the COSHH regulations require all business owners and domestic landlords to undergo an annual safety inspection of all gas appliances within their premises.
QES employ a team of highly qualified and Gas Safe Register accredited (formerly CORGI) team of engineers who can provide this essential service with the minimum of disruption.
Every year approximately thirty people die from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by gas appliances and flues which have not been properly installed or maintained. Many others suffer serious ill health.
Under the Gas Safety Regulations you are required to:
- Ensure gas fittings and flues are maintained in a safe condition. Gas appliances should be serviced in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions. If these are not available it is recommended that they are serviced annually unless advised otherwise by a Gas Safe Registered (formerly CORGI) engineer;
- Ensure an annual safety check is carried out on each gas appliance/flue;
- Have all installation, maintenance and safety checks carried out by a Gas Safety Registered (CORGI) engineer;
- Keep a record of each safety check for at least two years;
- If applicable, issue a copy of the latest safety check record to existing tenants within 28 days of the check being completed, or to any new tenant before they move in.
If you need to renew your Gas Safety Certificate, arrange an initial inspection or would like to discuss an ongoing service plan, QES can ensure that all of your gas safety issues are dealt with swiftly, efficiently and at price that you will find pleasantly surprising.
